LOCAL USER PREFERENCES Installation of the version update will have the effect of resetting your local user preferences to the default settings. If you have BALABOSS.MDE installed on multiple workstations, may we suggest a great time-saver: - Adjust one instance of BALABOSS.MDE to your preferred settings including pointing at your FIRM.DAT - Copy that "adjusted" BALABOSS.MDE from your local hard drive to a designated location on your file server - Other users may copy the "adjusted" BALABOSS.MDE from the server to their respective local hard drives - That copy process may be automated by creating a shortcut on the Windows Desktop of each user

 

	OPENING BALANCE DATA WIP and A/R Opening Balance data is of a temporary nature and is stored on the local workstation, as opposed to the central data file. Therefore, if you have not yet transferred any Opening Balance data for WIP and/or A/R, the opening balance data will be lost on installation of the update.
	CLIENT SPECIFIC STAFF RATES If you are upgrading from Version 5.04 or higher, your Client Specific Staff Rates will not be impacted by the BB11.0 upgrade. If you are upgrading from a Version 5.03 or earlier, Client Specific Staff Rates you may have recorded will need to be re-entered following installation of the Version BB11.0 update.

1. Click the Back button on your browser to return to the previous page.
2. Click on Download BB_V11.EXE or BCS.EXE
3. The download page will appear.
   The download speed may vary in response to traffic loads at different times of the day. If you experience any difficulty downloading, please try again later.
   The download file BB_V11.EXE size is, approximately, 30.0 MB.
   The download file BCS.EXE size is, approximately, 5.0 MB.
4. Save the file named BB_V11.EXE and BCS.EXE in a temporary location
   Note: For purposes of these instructions we have assumed you have saved the file in the C:\TEMP folder
5. From the Windows desktop
   Click Start
   Click Run
   In the Open text box type: C:\TEMP\BB_V11.EXE or C:\TEMP\BCS.EXE
   Click OK
6. A form similar to the example below headed WinZip Self-Extractor [BB_V11.EXE] or [BCS.EXE] will appear:
   
   
   
   
7. The self-extracting BB_V11.EXE contains four files:
   BalaBoss.mde, Demo.dat, Dot NET Framework and BalaBoss Client Navigator Patch (both the Patch and .NET Framework is required to be run before you can use Version BB11.0)
   
   While only BalaBoss.mde, Dot NET Framework and BalaBoss Client Navigator Patch is required for the update, we recommend you take the opportunity to refresh your Demo.dat file.
   
   However, if you want to preserve the data you may have entered into your Demo.dat file you may uncheck the "Overwrite Files..." checkbox. This will give you the choice of which files to overwrite.
   
   
   
   
   
8. Click Unzip
   
9. If you have unchecked "Overwrite .." then you must click Yes to overwrite BalaBoss.mde
   
   
   
   and you may click Yes or No to overwrite Demo.dat
