BalaBoss Software Corporation has developed the Client Navigator, an application that collectively organizes client data files and permanent information in one main menu, no matter what software files (i.e. tax, working paper, spreadsheet, word processing, etc.) you are using. With the recent implementation of its time-and-billing module, BalaBoss has created a powerhouse management tool, Client Navigator version 4.05, that unites practice management with time-and-billing, specifically for accounting professionals.

No sooner had I reviewed version 3.04 a couple of months ago, than a new version 4.05 was upgraded to include more reporting functions and increased flexibility in data entry.

The Client HQ window is the main menu of the system. All the client’s permanent information and all relevant data files can be accessed with a simple click of the mouse from this location. On the left side is the Practice Management Quadrant, a collection of buttons that pertain to the details of the client’s organization, while the right side, known as the Launch Pad Quadrant, instantly accesses external software programs applicable to the client. The only major change to this window is the addition of the time-and-billing features and enhanced reporting. It’s a "ying and yang" approach to practice management; before the time-and-billing module was introduced, a noticeable void was apparent in the system. The addition of the time-and-billing module was well worth the wait.

Rapid time sheet entry is the highlight of this time-and-billing module. The Time & Expense entry form is designed to minimize the use of a mouse. By entering data using the TAB or ENTER keys, you can significantly reduce the mouse-to-keyboard juggling act. This is an outstanding feature that sets it apart from other time-and-billing products. Local user preferences and service code favourites can be customized to each individual staff member. An array of customizable reports can be generated and sorted by client and/or staff. Unlimited tax fields and service codes make BalaBoss rule!

This is a good solution for an accounting firm that requires a system that delivers more than just time-and-billing, and a rather convenient way to access and organize client data files all in one comprehensive package.
